Count Achille Sassoli de Bianchi launches the product that will make Buton the leading Italian liqueur company: the "Vecchia Romagna" brandy. After the Liberation it will have great success with the American soldiers stationed in Bologna.
In the sixties, thanks also to the effective advertising that will feature the Petronian actor Gino Cervi, the "Vecchia" will become the brandy that "creates an atmosphere".
The constant growth of the Buton company will only be interrupted by the crisis of the 1980s, when the brand will be acquired by the Seragnoli family, owners of Montenegro.
